Supporting a national service design pilot

Mind are a national federated network of over 150 local organisations that provide mental health and wellbeing support across England and Wales. I worked with Mind’s Local Services Strategy and Development team to consider how Service Design could be used to support their network, resulting in a successful pilot with five Local Minds. 


I supported Mind’s Local Services Strategy and Development Manager in the development of a case to introduce Service Design to the network, including designing and delivering workshops to various internal stakeholders. I supported the development of a plan for a service design pilot in the network, and helped to shortlist and recruit the consultancy who ran the pilot, the Innovation Unit, as well as the five local charities that took part. As a member of the project’s steering group, I helped to monitor and evaluate the programme throughout. The pilot successfully developed a bespoke service design methodology to support Mind’s extensive network to develop services in a user-focused way, and I am now working with the team to consider how this should be shared and introduced to the Local Minds.
